The Gladiators of 2037 is "band" that my brother and I have been in for three years now. We make videos on youtube, and (more importantly), we write songs; to make this realevant: we have recently adapted our style of music to that of a Surf-Rock Vibe.
In this band, my brother and I have taken on the roles of fictional characters: Spartacus (me) and Perseus (my brother), we are Gladiators from the year 2037, and we have come from the future to save the world.
Just recently, we have decided to start playing live, so we've hired our brother (Andromeda) and cousin (Achilles) to play as our backing musicians. I play lead guitar, my brother (Perseus) plays drums, and our backing musicians play rhythm guitar and bass.
Andromeda is actually a guitar player, but we have him playing bass (the basslines i've written are very good, so he doesn't mind). He is 12 years old, and is far better than me, but he doesn't play surf, or write as well. He is very talented.
Achilles is not so good. But he can play first position chords, and that's all he needs to do.
While this may not be of any particular intrest to anyone, I will attempt to use this blog as a tool to put us "out there," and also I hope to use the Gladiators of 2037 as a tool to establish some credibility in the surf community.
